The winner of one of the nominations of the All-Russian SPARE competition “Energy and Environment” became young resident of Yekaterinburg Maria Rostovskaya with project "Waste minus CO2". According to the schoolgirl's calculations, during the three months of her experiment, her family "saved" 37 kg of waste, equivalent to more than 300 kg of carbon dioxide, from falling into the garbage.

Although the restrictions related to the pandemic have not yet been fully lifted, the Urals participants in the SPARE project continue to carry out environmental activities. The Green Watch movement has opened the KvARTal eco-class in Severouralsk (Ural region). The topic of the first lesson was related to waste. Serious talk about waste, its classification and waste disposal methods was interspersed with games and creative tasks.

On May 24-25, 2021, the XII International Forum "Ecology" was held in Moscow. A delegation of directors and teachers of the Bryansk SPARE Community took an active part in all the events of this largest environmental event of the year. Koryagina N. P., director of  Domashovskaya school from the Bryansk region, one of the project managers and a diploma winner of the All-Russian competition of SPARE in the 2020-2021 academic year, made a presentation about the work of the school on the topics of SPARE: "Energy efficiency", "Conservation of resources and energy", "Climate change", "Rational waste management". The speech aroused great interest and numerous questions from the participants.

In times of self-isolation nine regions of Russia and Bulgaria, 30 schools, more than 350 schoolchildren took part in an unusual workshop in April-May 2020. The basis of the distance workshop was the in-depth study of  some graphic and text materials of the pop-up book "Energy efficient building. Problems and Solutions for Efficient and Economical Use of Energy", created by the Russian SPARE program in 2017.

Gazprom School’s staff has been taking part in the activities of the SPARE educational program on climate change and energy for 2 years. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the team of the TEC "Erudite" (Bishkek, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan) joined the work. We use SPARE's materials and recommendations at our work.

The project by Darya Kozlovskaya "Newspaper “Raindrops" was recognized as the best in the class. She sent it to the regional competition and then to the all-Russian one. This project of the 9-year-old girl about   a real daily saving of resources and energy in a large family became the winner of the Russian competition SPARE - 2019. She took the first place in the nomination "Informing of Society"!

Adults and children attending kindergartens in the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation began to participate in the SPARE program since 2014. During this time, the SPARE program coordinators of our region developed business games on energy saving exclusively for children. The games were adapted from a book called “The thermal power plant from nothing” by V. Shinkarenko, the author of methodical recommendations for the creation of warm houses for pets.
