In October and November 2020, activists of the voluntary crew Bright Future of “Zharikovskaya Secondary School of the Municipal District Pogranichhyy” held in Boguslavka village of Primorskiy Kray several campaigns aimed at maintaining the cleanliness of the village and helping four legged friends. Campaings were dedicated to International Energy Saving Day.

An unusual and very important event became the campaign “Help for tails” which was held at the end of October 2020. The children walked through the village and took from the people old warm clothes that could be discarded. As the result, the old things life was extended and the dogs received warmth and comfort. That’s how the schoolchildren of the voluntary crew responded to the announcement that the organizer of the crew, ninth-grader Olga Volobueva, accidentally saw on social networks.

Since 2008, in the village of Sergeevka of the District Pogranichniy there has been a shelter for homeless animals. The administration of the shelter appealed to all concerned people with the request to provide all possible help to the dogs who lived in the shelter.

The schoolchildren decided to draw the attention of other village inhabitants to the campaign and issued leaflets calling for help. They turned to social workers who asked their wards for old unnecessary warm clothes. And people willingly gave them away.

25 participants (teachers, children, adults of Boguslavka village) took part in “Help for tails” campaign. For 5 days (from October 26 to October 30), three big bags of warm clothes were collected, mostly, unnecessary coats, blankets that will be used for warming doghouses and as beddings. Monetary funds and food bags were also collected. The head of the shelter in her Instagram account wrote thanks for the help.

The activists of the voluntary crew plan to hold ”Help for tails” campaign every year and make it traditional for their village. This activity may become a part of the events timed to coincide with the International Energy Saving Day that is celebrated on November 11.
